FITZROY STAR CHAMBER.
The Fitzroy Town Board met on Monday mght to talk about the revision oi the roll and the absorption of Fitzroy into the Borough of New Plymouth. There seems to be no possible point that could be debated in connection with either subject that the public should not be acquainted with. Further it is hardly likely that any member oi the litzroy Town Board would be ashamed to allow all men to know his ideas on the points at issue. At a moment like the present, when its seems inevitable that Fitzroy will mero-e in New Plymouth, the general public naturally take keen interest in the question, and as the Fitzroy Town Hall cannot _ accommodate the whole of the public interested, the press is useful in disseminating information. We are glad that Mr. Healy championed the ope,, meeting, and sorry that there shouid have been any antagonism, or a desire to transact the business in secret. It is uncommon for public men to declare that they do not care what the public trunk and if the speaker who made the remark was really careless of the opinion of the public, he would assuredly not hare suggested the transaction, of business in committee. A publie body or any kind owes its existence to the people, and it is the people it should serve. It serves the people best when its business is done openly and is guided m its decisions by its care for the public and what the public thinks
