ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Leppertori Dairy Company wis held in the Lepperton Hall on Friday evening, when there was a good muster of shareholders, Mr. W. Crowe (chairman of directors) presiding. The following report was adopted:— The milk received was 3,297,8361b. 133,980.9581b. of butter fat. Buttei made amounted to 154,1151b.—08 tons 16 cwt. Oqrs. 31b. It took an average of 21.4 lb of milk to make lib of butter. Each lib. of butter fat made I.la lb. of butter. The average test was 4.06. Out of the surplus of £720 lis 4d, your directors propose to pay 5 per cent, interest on share capital subscribed to August 31, 1909—£64 lis lid—and to make payment to suppliers of 1 l-6d per lb. of butter fat for the seasou— ,€651 6s 2d —and to carry the bal-l ance forward. After the payment of! the 1 l-6d named above, suppliers will have received an average of 11.29 d (nearly 11 l-3d) for the season. Including interest to shareholders the average received will be 1.41 d, as compared with those factories which do not pay interest on share capital. During the winter months your directors have had a new cool-room built, and a new concrete receiving stage pui; in, and other work done. They have also had the plant overhauled, and a new brine tank and a new milk heater installed. The total cost of all this was £244 Is lid, of which the sum of £95 10s has been charged to buildings and plant, and the balance of £l4B lis lid your directors propose to write off by transfer from Reserve Account. Your directors are pleased to report that this company was at the head of the grading averages for the past season over the whole Dominion, with an average of 93.33, a result of which your manager has every reason to be proud. The election of directors was then taken, the vacancies being three, Messrs. Scholes and Munro retiring by effluxion of time, and Mr. R. Kilpatrick resigning. Several gentlemen were nominated, the result being recorded as follows:—E. G. Hamblvn 45, P. A. Openshaw 42, W. Scholes' 38, W. N. Ackland 29, J. T. H. Robinson 23, J. F. Munro 22, and W. C. Lovell 4. Messrs. Hamblyn, Openshaw and Scholes were elected. Mr. Hopson was re-elected auditor at a fee of £3 3s.
Some question took place on the question of the Company indenting manures for suppliers, which resulted in the directors being authorised to indent. A hearty vote of thanks and congratulation to the manager was passed on his having topped the grading figures this i season for the whole Dominion with an average of 9-3.33. A bonus of £lO was voted to the manager, in consideration of the extra and good work done by him during the past season. The question of pasteurising the skijn milk was discussed, but it was eventually decided to hold over any decision for the time being, as the probable expenditure necessary appeared to be mora than the present aspect of the question seemed to warrant. , At a meeting of the new directorate, held immediately after the meeting, Mr. Crowe was unanimously re-elected chairman of directors.—Abridged from Inglewood Record.
