NEW PLYMOUTH ORCHESTRAL UNION. Preparations are being made by this Society for giving the people of New, Plymouth another of their popular con-j certs on Thursday next, October 27. | The programme will contain well-known orchestral numbers, including the overture from "Tancredi" (Rossini), selections from '•Tannhauser" (Wagner), "II Tr ova tore'' (Verdi), "William Tell" (Rossini) and "Boccacio" (Suppe). The or- , chestra will be of the same instrumentation as hitherto, and is still under the baton of Mr. C. H. Lawn. The vocal [ parts of the concert will be sustained by Mrs. Barton (Birdie Butler), of Hawera, well known as a soprano in Auckland and Taranaki; also Mr. J. Haslam and Mr. H. Nixon. The holders of honorary members' tickets are reminded that these tickets admit to two seats, and that they must bring their tickets .with tbem, ... . . u j '
