July 28.—Rumor that Crippen and Le Xeve are in Canada; detectives despatched. Search proceeding in Andorra. Suspects disguised as old woman and young man seen at Dieppe. Inspector Dew sails in the Laurentic. July 24—The steamer Montrose reports by wireless telegraphy that Crippen and Le Xeve are crossing the Atlantic disguised as the Rev. Mr. Robinson and son. 7 July 29—Inspector Dew at Father Point. July 31.—Crippen and Miss Le Xeve arrested off Father Point. Aug. I.—Remanded at Quebec for fifteen days. Aug. 27.—Crippen and Miss Le Xeve brought back to London. Oct. 22.—Crippen convicted and sentenced to death.
