Official and successful experiments have been made with .torpedo arrows against airships. ; INTERNATIONAL AVIATION MEET. BRITISHERS COMPETING AT NEW YORK. Received 23, 5.5 p.m. New York, October 22. The International Aviation Meet opens at New York on Saturday. Grahame White and James Hadley, of Great I?ritain, are competing. The chief prize' is the International Cup of Gordon-Bein-nett's for a hundred kilometres race. The sum of £20,000 is offered for a flight from the aviation field round the statue of Liberty, in the harbor, and return. THE BALLOON RACE. Received 2s, 5.5 p.m. New York, October 22. The Germania balloon has landed in the Quebec province. It has probably made a record, having covered 1195 miles.
