TAIiANAKI EXECUTIVE MEETING. A meeting (if the Taranaki Executive of the Now Zealand Ea 'iners' Union was | li.ld on Thursday. Present: Messrs J. W. Jones (president), J. Davidson, W. lingers, Allbusen, J. Thomson, A. linntcr, 1 11, (J. Sergei, E. Marfell, R. limbic, EorsyLh. and JO. Maxwell. Letters were received from Messrs Okey and Jennings. M.l'.'s, acknowledgreceipt of flu; resolution passed at la-t meeting re the Land Bill. Letters were read from branches for- \\ a rding subscriptions. A letter was received from the llawke's Bay Executive asking the Taranaki Executive! if it approves of the Auckland land agency scheme; also enquiring if tile Executive had passed its own scheme and if so would it forward ' it to the ITawkc's Bay Executive'! T!i(! land a.gency scheme was then discussed in committee, when the following recommendations were drawn up for presentation to the Dominion Executive: 1. The Executive, recommends that the Dominion Executive be asked if they have any objection to the establishment of a. land and estate a.gency by the Executive. 2. This section of the Union's work be called, "Fanners' Union Land and-Es-tate Agency." The head ollice for each provincial district shall be the ollice of the provincial secretary. -I. Chief agents shall be appointed by ' the provincial Executive. The provincial 1 secretary to have the first refusal of the ; position .and the appointment, subject -. i.o three months' notice, shall run eon--1 currently with that of provincial secretary. The chief agents to have the ap- ' pointment of sub-agents 'in accordance with clause 5, The chief agents sha>ll Ue '■ paid by commission, which must cover the cost of the offices, rent, stationery, ' etc., the chief agent to have tfye right ; to act as sole agent, in one sub-district - only,
The provincial districts shall be divided into sub-districts, with branch secretaries or appointed men, who must be members of the Union; as agents. li. Agents shall be provided with formsfor the purpose of obtaining full particulars of properties for sale or lease, am! authority to soli or lease same. 7. Kadi agent in his own district to supply farmers with these forms for the purpose of obtaining properties for sale or lease. The agent shall keep a proper register,of all such properties. A full list of all properties obtained shall, as soon as possible, be sent to the head oilice, also all the provincial agencies approved by the Dominion Executive. 8. The chief agent shall keep a complete register of all properties, and also a separate register for each sub-dis-trict, !). Sub-agents shall report at once on any stage of negotiations or transactions, especially as to payment of 'deposits. , The question of commission was deferrefl until next meeting. It was decided to recommend to the Dominion Executive the following, alteration to Rule 3 a:—Anv member whose subscription is paid may, on Application, be granted a transfer of membership from one branch to another, such transfer to be signed by the chairman and secretary of the branch from which he is j resigning.—Star.
