GREATER NEW PLYMOUTH.
To the Editor. ■Sir,—l. am glad that a petition i* being signed by people in Filzroy who do not wish, to join the borough. I love the old place and hope 1 will not seethe day when trams rush along tlie streets—the good old 'bus is qui lit good enough for me, and the driver is al v;tys kind. I'm sure 110 train driver would allow a person to ride and promise to j pay to-morrow if she had left her purse 1 at home. They te.ll nut that my rules will be less if I. join the borough, bill I 1 don't mind. I have paid Mr. Foote for ! nearly 20 years and want to go on pay- 1 ing him. There are some others like me and i. hope they will keep on fighting. One of our leaders is boasting that he has such influence in Wellington with a eertam Minister that we needn't worry if the others do send a petition away Irving to join the borough because his friends will stop it. I don't quite understand, but I think that since Mr. Mine has nuAle such a fuss in Wellington about Wiinirs like this a Minister will not |>e so useful now, so I hope our side won't depend only on this—l am, etc., OLD FITZROY.
