"THE YELLOW PERIL."

JAPAN AND AUSTRALIA. By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright. Sydney, October 20. Mr. Miki Saito, the new Japanese Consul-General, has arrived. He smiled at the idea of the Japanese invading Australia. He said the Japanese Government was doing everything possible to keep the working class at home. Regarding exclusion there was no resentment. The Japanese realised that Australia must conduct her affairs in her own way, but they thought the exclusion could have been accomplished more happily by way of treaty. He ridicules the idea of war between Japan and either Russia or the United States.
