THE "IDLE RICH."

MR. LLOYD-GEORGE'S STATEMENT COMBATTED. By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright. Received 20, 9.50 p.m. ; London, October 20. L. C. Ajnery, in a letter to the Times, says the census shows that the servants of the '"idle rich" number about 200,000. Mr. Lloyd-George's estimate of two million was presumably based on males of the unoccupied class, whom the census computes as numbering just under two millions. Mr. Lloyd-George, however, overlooked the trifling fact that the return included boys over ten and men past work.
