Simon, Solicitor-General, replying to a deputation of trade unionists at Walthamstown, refused to commit Cabinet to a definite method of dealing with the Osborne case. lie was not prepared to say that the payment of members was necessarily a complete remedy. WHAT LABOR DEMANDS. Received 20, 11.30 p.m. London, October 20. Mr. Ramsay Mac Donald. M.l'., addressing a meeting at Nottingham, said the sooner the Government knew that trade unions were not going to allow the essential principles of trade unionism to interfpre with the pretext of protection of minorities, the better. They simply wanted power to spend their money upon political action without qualification. They asked for earlv facilities in connection with the second reading of the Bill and hoped the party would be sufTiciently strong to know the Government's intentions within a few hours after the opening of the session.
