SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Nterht Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' weather summary and forecast: Aj westerly storm of small area but considerable intensity has passed southward of New Plymouth and Napier with high westerly winds, especially in Cook and Foveaux strails. Heavy rain fell m the southernmost districts during the night, and it has rained also on the West Coast of the South Island, but fine weather has continued in most parts ol the country, though with increasing cloudiness. Present indications are for strong westerly winds generally. The barometer will probably rise for a short time in the south, but fall elsewhere. Expect unsettled and showery weather generally. ■ < ■ ili
