Rabbits are reported to be becoming very numerous in various, parts of the King Country, including the vicinity of Te Kuiti and the Ohuva. A rabbit board is being formed in the latter district. A considerable number of rabbits have also, been seen in the Lower Waikato and Upper .Manukau districts, Hunua being one of the districts specially referred to. Stoats and weasels are not very numerous in these districts, ami the opinion is expressed by many farmers that if the animals become sufficiently numerous to keep down rabbits the remedy would be worse than the disease. It is, therefore, not likely that ariy claim for protection for "the natural enemy" will be made from that part of the Dominion.
