There were 44 competitions, Bowes, of W'anganui, securing third place. There were 88 competitors for the B fiat cornet solos. Buckley, of Wanganui. tied with Gore, of Victoria, for first place. The New Zealander was beaten in the rolay-ofi. .MeComas, of Victoria, was third. Gore got the possible. In the baritone class, Jensen, of Wanganui, was first, Harrop (Victoria) second, and Helm (Victoria) third. The judge remarked that the standard of playing, equalled that of England.
