There was a little excitement at the Palmerston North railway station on Friday morning last, says'the Standard, a search having to be macle for a missing baby. A lady had requested a porter to place a label on a go-cart while' she purchased her ticket, and after he had carried out her instructions he placed the conveyance in the van, quite unconscious of the fact that under the wrappings lay a baby. The mother, on her return from the ticket office, became alarmed over the disappearance of the baby and: go-cart, and anxious enquiries of the officials were made as to the whereabouts of the infant.
