ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
FOUND DROWNED. ; By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, October 17. , William Porter, aged 80, one of Auckland's pioneer colonists, was found drowned at Taupiri on Sunday. He haa been in bad health, and was suffering from senile decay. DEATH UNDER AN. ANAESTHETIC. Christeliurch, Last Night. An inquest was held to-day re the death of John Lindsay Squire, who died while under an anaesthetic at the hospital. A verdict was returned that death' was due to collapse, the coronet* adding that everything possiblo had been done and that there was no blame resting on Mie surgeons.
