The airship Clement Bayard 11., with seven passengers, sailed from Compiegne fos London and alighted at Shepherd s Bush after a voyage of 6 hours 11 minutes. TORPEDO BOATS AND MOTOR CARS LEFT BEHIND. London, October 17. The Clement Bayard 11. left Compiegne at 7-15 in perfect weather. Boulogne was reached at 10.15, and the Channel crossed in 45 minutes. French torpedo boats were echelonned across the Channel and guided her to Folkestone, but each boat was out-distanced by the airship in turn. The Clement Bayard arrived at Tunbridge Wells at 12.2 a, beating the fastest motor cars which followed her. St. Paul's was reached at one o'clock, Mr. William Duckros, M.P., representing the Parliamentary Aerial Committee, was aboard. CROSSING THE ATLANTIC. GOOD PROGRESS BEING MADE. New York, October 10. The dirigible America left Atlantic City on a trans-Atlantic flight yesterday morning. Wireless reports state that she is making good progress. Marconigrams warning the crew of a hurricane off Cuba have been despatched. MACHINE RUNS AMOK. Paris, October 16. While Bailloud was testing a monoplane at Limoges the machine developed a defect and ran amok into the crowd, killing a girl and injuring several others.
