Bluff, Last Night.—.Sailed, at 5.40 p.m., Moeraki, for Hobart. Onehunga, Monday—Sailed, at 6 a.m., Rosamond, for Wellington direct. THE CORINNA. The Corinna got away for Wellington shortly after midday yesterday for Welling, taking 9728 boxes of butter and ?45 crates of cheese for transhipment to the Tongariro for Home markets. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa brought 109 tons of cargo from Onehunga yesterday morning, iftciuding 31 tons of manure, 35 tons of cement, M 5 tons of flour, 11 tons of sugar ,and 100 cases of fruit. THE KINL The Kini arrived early yesterday morning from Onehunga with the balance of her West Coast coal ,amounting to 405 tons. She left for Greymouth about midnight. THE GERTIE. The Gertie, which arrived here on Saturday evening, completed her discharge yesterday and left at 8.30 a'clock last night for Greymouth. LABOR AT TIIE PORT. Insufficiency of labor is the cause of much inconvenience at the Breakwater, and yesterday there were four vessels waiting to be discharg-1 ed, but which could not be worked simultaneously. The colliers Gertie and Kini were unable to complete till late last night, though the Corinna and Rarawa respectively loaded and discharged their cargoes in usual time. The labor difficulty, of course, will be experienced so long as present conditions prevail. There is not enough work on the wharf to keep i men in regular employment and tho laborers will not leave other work to work at the Breakwater for a day or two. in earlier days many of the men who worked on the wharf came in from their bush sections for a dity or two s work and afterwards returned to their bushfelling, being thus able to earn a small amount oi ready cash and carry on the improvements on their farms a*t the same time. Conditions now, however, are different, and the erstwhile wharf lumpers are now possessors of profitable iarms and are able to forget their earlier days of wharf laboring, though this work assisted many a man to reach his present state of prosperity. A mariner who used to work this port m the earlier days informed us recently that there was oniy one man oil the wharf now who used to work his silip a few years ago. .Many of the others he now sees in town driving around in their smart turn-outs. New Plymouth is not now well situated for the supply of the required number of wharf laborers, although a couple of vessels can be worked ail right. OVERSEAS VESSELS TO ARRIVE IN WELLINGTON.
