WRECKED CREW PICKED UP. V By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright. Received 17, 9.45 p.m. Brisbane, October 17. The steamer Germania, from the East, reports rescuing a crew of eleven all told of the Norwegian steam trawler Berta, which was wrecked off Pratas shoal en route from Norway to Hakodat. The vessel was 'blown on the reef and became a total wreck. The crew took to the boat and drifted for three days on a short supply of food and water. The men were in a bad condition when rescued. The castaways were landed at Manila.
