THE CONTROL OF CYCLING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. 1 Timaru, Last Night. At the annual meeting of the local centre of the New Zealand Athletic Union to-day there was a good deal of discussion on the union having taken over the control of cycling. Mr. Kennedy, who attended the Greymouth coference, gave an explanation, which was accepted by a member who had questioned the wisdom of the step. Opposition was anticipated from the North Canterbury centre of the League of Wheelmen, but the N.Z.A.U. was saict to have a strong position and could ignore the league. Mr. Kennedy said the trade would support the union.
