THE SHEARERS' DISPUTE. ; By Telegraph.—Press Association. Gisborne, Yesterday. A conference between the employers and shearers' representatives was heloJ this morning over the wages difficulty, but no settlement was arrived at. The representative of the employers states that the latter agreed to pay the men on the basis of the southern award, and undertook, if they were dissatisfied and took the matter to the Arbitration Court and the Court awarded them higher wages, there would be retrospectively ail}' increase that might be awarded.
