AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
The Society's spring show will be held on the Racecourse, New Plymouth, on November 30 and December 1 next. The schedule, which will be circulated during the next few days, contains classes somewhat 1 similar to last year's programme. A new class lias been introduced for best utility horse (saddle), property of a farmer. In the harness classes, events for pony under 14 hands and also harness ponies under 14 hands have been included. In all pedigree cattle classes an extra class has been inserted for 3-year-ola bulls to bring the animals under their right headings. In the sheep classes a clause has been inserted that "no sheep under eighteen months are eligible for championships." In the pig, sheep and dairy produce classes -no material alterations have been made. Attention of owners is directed to the Champion Butter - Fat Competition, which is again included in the schedule. The Society undertakes the sole care and control of cows during the course of tht contest, and they are milked in the Society's paddocks by an appointed official, and all records of milk, etc., recorded by the stewards. Besides the valuable ' advertisement gained, the owners of the first four cows divide £2O in prize money donated by the Society. This competition should be very largely contested. Last year cows competes from Hawera, Stratford, Urenui and other outside centres. Entries for this event c!o-;e with the secretary on Saturday, November 12. Entries for factory butter classes only close on Octobei 25, and general entry night is fixed for Saturday, November 26. Anyone desiri".o- information should consult with tht secretary, Mr. E. P.
