The Court unaniI mously decided that the Act was invalid on the grounds raised, and refused a common rule. FRIENDLY SOCIETIES' RECORD. Sydney, October 11. At the Manchester Unity celebrations the Grand Secretary stated that the Commonwealth's total adult population was 2,500,000, of whom 260,000 were connected with the friendly society movement, whose funds totalled £3,670,000.
