FITZROY LOAN PROPOSALS.
TO BE DEFERRED. At a meeting of ratepayers of tht Eitzroy town district a fortnight ago a ommittee was set up to entire Into the suggested extension of the loan proposals. The committee reported to a meeting he ld last evening, recommending additional works estimated to cost £750 ?^ he io:n sinsofa£6oooinsteadofa Mr. E. Griffiths proposed that the necessary steps be taken to give effect to' the committee's recommendations mo r + w Cu^ eld moved as an ™dment that action in connection with the proposal be deferred until the matter ot tin proposed merging with the borough is determined.
After considerable discuasioa the amendment was carried.
