The expedi* J tion at a certain point would split into , v « four parties. Captain Scott would go to' the Pole, and the other parties to King .'J Edward VII Land, Victoria Land, and :| Beardmore Glacier respectively. The ,'jj last party, besides prospecting for buxh-S erals, would make a search for gold. .jl According to Mr. Thompson, the coun-' ™j try resembles Alaska, and. there is every;'-J prospect of gold being found., If discover*\l ed in commercial quantities there will i| be no insuperable difficulties in working!
