A charge of having stolen twenty-five hominw pigeons, valued at £3l, the property" of Ernest Albert Coles, was brought against a laboring man, John Cicel, at the Magistrate's Court to-day. Detectives Cameron and Rawle stated that they searched accused's house in Little Hawkstone street, and in a sack in one of the upstairs rooms they found twenty-two dead pigeons, in a bucket eighteen pigeons' heads, thirty-eight legs, and a quantity of feathers. The rings were also found. A statement made by accused contained an admission of the theft, also that he had been drinking. He stole the birds in consequence of "a quarrel with the family."
