SUMMARY AND FORECAST. j By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates* summary and forecast:— Wednesday night and this morning were very stormy m fee southern districts, snow and hail accompanying a strong south-westerly gale. Further north, westerly winds, strong to gale were reported and heavy rain in scattered districts. Conditions have improved to-day. The barometer has risen half-an-inch at Bluff, but remains steady in the far north. Present indications are for cool and changeable weather and generally showery in parts. The winds Trul probably decrease shortly, moderate to strong soubherlies and westerlies prevailing. The barometer will probably rise slowly in tie south, but there art at present indications for a slight fall in the north.
