DISTRICT NEWS.

EGMONT VILLAGE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) An epidemic of influenza is at present visiting this district. Almost every day fresh cases are reported and there are very few houses which are not affectedl. It is a curious coincidence that this attack should come with the first signs of spring. The epidemic interfered with the personnel of the crib team against Kaimiro on Tuesday. After borrowing four Kaimiro men, twelve good men were mustered. Kaimiro won by two games. The Village team provided supper for the visitors. The Debating Society's meeting was postponed owing to the leaders on one 3ide 'having influenza. 'School was resumed on Monday after a week's holiday.
