In connection with his appeal for £<3OD to inaugurate experimental emigration of town lads in accordance with New Zealand's promise of assisted passages for fifty lade, Mr. Thomas Sedgwick complained to Mr. John Burns, President of the Board of Trade, that the central unemployed body had declined to grant the £6OO passage money required unless they control the selection of the boys. Mr. Sedgwick considers fcha/t such action would exclude provincial lads.
