(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) Most people fondly imagine that telegrams are, a means of quicker communication than postal delivery, but often such is not the case. Some time ago a. telegram despatched from Waitara to New Plymouth before the departure of the 9.45 train reached its destination, New Plymouth, after the sender himself arrived there. Again on Saturday last. a letter was received here from NewPlymouth, and some fifteen minutes afterwards a telegram arrived advising the posting of the letter. Wheatley and Kettle were appointed a visiting committee for the ensuing quarter. Accounts amounting to £5 18a were passed for payment. The annual report of the Cricket Club showed a credit balance of 3s lOd. The Bowling Club's annual meeting was to be held last evening. Thwe is a fairly big order paper for the Borough Council meeting to-night.
