COLLISION IN MID-AIR. By Cable. —Press Association.—Copy right, ' Rome, October 3. At the (Milan meeting Captain DickBon collided with a French aviator named [Thomas in mid-air, and both were severely injured. Dickson's injuries are internal and very serious. Received 3, 9.30 p.m. Milan, October 3. Several aviators competed for the long distance prize. Thomas, aboard an Antoinette, planed downwards at a high speed, and narrowly escaped injury. Riggerdue's machine struck Captain Dickson's biplane. The machines became locked together and fell 100 feet, the eyiindera exploding. Thomas had a marvellous escape. He was severely bruised. Dickson 'has recovered consciousness. Count Turin and the Duke of Abruzzi witnessed the accident. Dickson visited Australia and New Zealand as a member of the party of the present King, then Prince of Wales. AN AIRMAN KILLED.
Berlin, October 2. Haas was killed while aeroplaning at Treves. Received 3, 9.30 p.m. Paris, October 3. Haas' biplane, owing to a motor defect, fpll 500 feet. He was killed instantly, almost every bone in his body being broken. CHAVEZIS FUNERAL. Paris, October 2. Chavez, aviator, who died owing to an accident after his flight over the Alps, had a public funeral at Pere la fihw-iso cemetery at the expense of the Peruvian Government. The French Minister of War and representatives of many institutions were present, and eloquent tributes were paid to the courage and daring of the dead man at the graveaide.
A THOUSAND MILES RACE. New £crk, October 2. An air race of a thousand miles from Chicago to Sew York lias been planned. There are ten entrants. A GREAT FEAT. Paris, October 2. Wynmalen biplaned to a height pi 9174 feet at Mourmelon, and then, his petrol having been finished, descended on a spiral in 13 minutes.
