WRECK OF THE CARNARVON BAY.

At the Marine Court enquiry into the loss of the Carnarvon Bay, Captain Griffiths, the master, attributed the wreck to striking an uncharted rock. The compasses were properly adjusted before he left Liverpool, and he was following corrected Admiralty charts at the time of the disaster. ACCIDENT ON THE MAKURA. Sydney, October 1. Last night a wireless message was received at Sydney from the steamer Makura, 275 miles from Cape Moreton, stating that the secondhand third engineers had a narrow escape through the bursting of the head of the cylinder of the auxiliary engine, STATE REVENUES. Sydney, October 1. The revenue for the State for the quarter increased by £92,434, comparea with the previous quarter, and compared with the corresponding quarter of last year the increase was £100,437. Melbourne, October 1. The quarter's revenue increased by £130,000. REDUCTION IN SUGAR. Sydney, October 1. The Colonial Sugar Refining Company notifies an all round reduction of £1 in the price of sugars. A DANGEROUS INDIVIDUAL. Sydney, October 1. The police are searching for a man, supposed to be demented, who left home on Thursday, armed with a knife and revolver, threatening to kill Mr. Wade. A SWEDISH EXPEDITION. Perth, October 1. A Swedish scientific expedition under Dr. Mjoberg has started for Fitzroy Junction, whence excursions wil be made in search for flora and fauna. THE LAVERTON RAIDERS. Perth, October 1.
