COTTONMASTERS' TROUBLE. London, September 20. The cobtonmasters contend that Howe, over whom the card-room strike arose, was insubordinate, and they were entitled to enforce discipline, buit while thiey will not reinstate him, they are prepared to compensate him, if the arbitration goes against them. The Chronicle, commenting on the trivial differences remaining for settlement in the boilermakers' and card-room disputes, states that the labor • leaders notice the men's sullen unrest and general disposition to rebel against laborsaving appliances displacing them. Further, workmen dislike the agreements expected when employment is scarce, and it is therefore impossible for the executive to secure better terms. Received September 30, 1'1.5 p.m. Sydney, Last Night. Tihe Wholesale Butchers' Wages Board award is wholly favorable to the men. The starting hours are varied! according to the season, but piecework will not be permitted..
