DISTRICT NEWS.

KENT ROAD. (From Our Own Correspondent.) On Sunday last the two Masses Allen, of Kent road, were driving down the road, and at the corner of the Junction road they met three motor cyclists, who had dismounted, and just when their gig came opposite the cyclists the latter mounted, and-the noise of the motors frightened the 'horse, causing it to bolt and capsize t the gig and throwing the two ladies out. The horse went on with the empty gig for some distance and was 'then stopped. Fortunately the occupants escaped! with a shaking and a fright. Cyclists should endeavor to exercise greater care and consideration for others on these dangerous roads.

The caws 'have not wintered so well this year on account of the failure in the turnip crops, and several of the settlers have lost some of 1 their best cows, while it will take the cows some time to pick up in condition for milking. The annual meeting of the Mangorei Dairy Co. is being looked forward to with Ike en interest, and, given a fine day, there should be a good muster. The many friend's of Mr. G. Tunnecliff, senior, will regret to hear that he is still very. all.
