STRIKE, OR NO STRIKE?
THE MINING TROUBLE. BALLOT OF UNIONISTS. By Association.—Copyright. London, September 27. One hundred and sixty thousand ballot papers have been distributed to miners in South Wales*. -. The issue to be voted on is restricted: to the question whether the Cambrian miners, who a,re on strike, shall be financially supported or whether .there shall be a general strike. Mr. McLaren, M.P., characterises the ballot as grpssly unfair, as virtually all who are opposed, to a wild and aggressive policy will be disfranchised. The Daily Chronicle considers that Mr. McLaren's strong wordis are justified'. By narrow majorities the men in eleven of the larger collieries favor a levy in support of the Cambrians, while six vote for a general stoppage.
