DOMINION DAY

WELLINGTON CELEBRATIONS. Fer Press Asociation. . WELLINGTON, Sept. 26. Beautiful weather was experienced for Dominion Day here. The occasion is being observed quietly. This morning the scholars at various, schools sbluted thp flag, but there was little speechifying. In the afternoon the defence and school cadets, 1000 strong, were reviewed by the Governor and Prime Minister at Newtown Park, but ,no speeches were made. This evening there will be a full military march by the Territorialsj preceded by a brilliant electric light display on the Basin Reserve. A reception is to be held in the Drill Hall, Buckle Street, when addresses will be, given by Lord Islington and Sir Joseph ward. Afterwards the former will inspect the troops on the Reserve. AT NAPIER. NAPIER, Sept. 26. A very sparse display of bunting and the closing of the- Government offices are the only visible signs of Dominion Day celebrations. NON-OBSERVANCE IN AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, Sept. 20.. Dominion Day was observed only by Government offices. , This afternoon there will be a parade of the King's veterans and school cadets;' T6-riight the Territorials march through the streets.
