(THE TARANAKI COMPANY. Good progress continues to be made at No. 1 bore of the Taranaki -Petroleum Company, and at No. 2 the flow of oil is still beiiig maintained. Pending the arrival of the balance of the 4-inch casing operations are hung up somewhat at No. 3 bore. Yesterday, Mr. Keith, the manager, ran his motor car for several miles on benzine refined from crude petroleum taken from No. 2 bore, and he states that it is quite as good, if not better than that which is generally used.
