The 'Manufacturers' Convention resolved in favor of reciprocal preferential trade within the Empire, thereby freeing it from dependence for its food supply on 'foreign countries. Especting changes in the Australian tariff," the Convention asked the Dominion Government to arrange preferential Custom duties with the Commonwealth. No'decision was reached on the question of reciprocity with the United States.
