COMPOSITE REGIMENT ON TOUR. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, September 22. A military tournament party, including 50 officer* and 850 reservist , is beimr organised, which will start :or a three years tour next year, beginning with the English provinces. Five months will be spent in Canada, and the same time in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and India. The object of the tour is to stimulate recruiting.
A BIG SCHEME. WAR OFFICE'S APPROVAL. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received September 22, 8.50 p.m London, September 22. The War Office has approved of ihs military tournament scheme. An uutber of officers have subscribed £'20,000 to initiate it. It is hoped the profits will amount to £200,000, which will be used to erect a veterans' home. J\xe spectacle will include a representation of the Balaclava charge and aviation displays. Local territorials and boy reservists will be paid £2 weekly. Colonel A. G. Burn, *bf the Indian Army, will be in command.
