Bates' summary and forecast:—The barometer rose Everywhere on Wednesday night, and fniouth-westerly winds, strong to gale, but there has been a slight to-day, and strong westerlies have predominated. The weather has been and stormy in the south and yjtongeable in the north. Present indicaffSjiß are for strong south-westerly Knnds 'generally; cold and . changeable •leather everywhere, and stormy soiithk|nkrd of Kawhia and Castlepoint, with seas on the west coast.
