TAXING SMALL FAMILIES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Paris, September 20. •M. Cochery, Minister of Finance, proposes to raise £1,812,000 for workmen's pensions by means of taxing on a higher scale the estates of persons having fewer than three children or descendants. This tax is expected to yield £BOO,OOO. He. also proposes a revision of the registration end stamp duties, from which it is estimated £1,152,000 will be received.
