Association this afternoon set up a committee to consider the proposal to cut up and sell the Cuba Street show ground, purchasing thirty acres from Louis Pascal alongside the railway line a few chains away, and there removing the present buildings and laying out and planting the show grounds. Mr. J. M. Johnston, honorary treasurer, whose plans were adopted for the Masterton grounds, is promoter of this scheme which, he contends, would provide forty acres of ground, permit of complete remodelling, and leave the Association with a financial advantage on account of the valuable character of the present grounds for building purposes. The alternative is a scheme by a sub-commit-tee to spend £4700 in providing additional buildings on the present ground.
