ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
COACH DRIVER'S SUICIDE. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Wellington, Monday. Adam M'Moran, driver of the Pori-rua-Titahi Bay coach, shot 'himself at Porirua yesterday afternoon. He borrow4l a gun from the hotel, saying he ■wanted to shoot a dog, and was found dead late in the day. Apparently he rested the.gun in front and shot himelf through the heart. He was about forty years of age and married. He was once a well-known jockey. Wellington, Last Night. An inquest on Adam McMorran, who shot himself at Porirua on Sunday, was held to-day. The evidence went to show that he had not 'been in good health of ' late and had been drinking. Deceased's mother stated that he had been injured on many occasions/and this had affected his health. He was of a cheerful disposition, and was very fond of his wife. A verdict was returned that death was due to a gunshot wound, self-inflicted, and that there was no evidence to ajiow the reason for deceased's act. SUDDEN DEATH. Auckland, Monday. Alexander MTjeod, aged 64, died suddenly yesterday while playing cards at his home in Hobson Street. DROWNING OF A CHILD. An inquest was held at Inglewood yesteruay in connection with the drowning of the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allemann. The jury, without retiring, returned a verdict that the child was accidentally drowned by falling into a tub of water. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. Christchurch, Last Night. Robert Alexander, the man who attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat on Bealey avenue yesterday, was reported to be making good progress at the hospital to-day.
