KING EDWARD MEMORIAL.
INSTITUTE OF TROPICAL MEDICINE PROPOSED. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright London, September 16. Professor W. J. Simpson, editor of the Journal of Tropical Medicine, is in communication with the Lord Mayor of London upon a proposal to commemorate the memory of the late King by establishing an Imperial Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine primarily devoted to the study of the endemic and epidemic diseases which render the tropics unhealthy to white people. One half of the £300,000 required for the consumptive sanatorium as a Welsh Rational memorial of King Edward lias already been promised.
