A line of 321 steers froni, the North Island made £lll iOs 8d to '£l3' ss, averaging £l2 lis.j Veal calves brought 4s 6d to £2 2s Gd.j A moderate yarding of store cattle soldi at rather easier prices. Yearlings made 42s 6d, 18-months 3os, three-year steers £5 lis, three-year heifers £5, dry cows 25s to £4 10s* 6d. Dairv cows brought. £3 10s to £8 10s. " 1 There was a better demand for fat pigs, as the entry was not very large, and prices were correspondingly firm. There was a moderate entry of store pigs, and prices showed a decline, as the demand was dull. Choppers sold up to 755, large baconers 47s 6d to 535, lighter 37s 6d to 455, large porkers 31s to 355, smaller 25s to 30s, large stores 23s to 275, medium 14s to 21s, weaners 3s 6d to Os for small and up to Ds fid for extra good sorts.

BURNSIDE. I ! At Burnside- stock market 1-95 head of j cattle were yarded, a fair proportion be- j ing good to prime. There were very few: pens of prime heavy -weights forward.j Prices were hardly so firm as last week,! but were satisfactory to sellers. Prime j bullocks to £l6, medium £ll 10s to! £l2 10s, light £9 9s to £lO 10s. The) yarding of fat sheep was above the average, 3401' being penned. The bulk of thej entry was composed of meidum weight, of _ very good quality. There was a good sale at prices aibout lis below' last week's 'rates.
