EXTRADITION OF ABSCONDERS.

DEPUTATION TO THE MINISTER. liy Telegraph. —Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. Representatives oi the United Friendly Societies' Council waited on the Minister of Justice to-day and asked uuit Government should pay the cost of extraditing a man who had absconded from Auckland with the funds of a lodge which, it was stated, was only recently formed. The Minister said he rocognised the hardship of the case, but he could not see his way clear to depart from the ruie established not only in New Zealand but in Australia and Britain in such cases, that where criminal offences were not really offences against the public but amounted to fraud on. the part of some employee whereby the employer lost his money, the employer, whether he was a person, society, or company, must give the Crown indemnity against the cost of bringing the offender back. It was true that in connection with absconding husbands he proposed to ihave such men brought back at the public expense, but that had become necessary not so much for the protection of the deserted wife as for the protection of the State against the increasing burden of supporting destitute wives and children.

DANGER SIGNALS. There are two serious signals of kidney ills. The first signal somes from the back with numerous aches and pains. The second signal comes in the kidney secretions, the urine is thin and pale or too highly colored and showing briclc-dust-like deposits. Urination is infrequent, too frequent or excessive. You should heed these danger signals before chronic complications set in—diabetes, dropsy, Bright's disease. Take Doan's Backache Kidney Pills in time and the cure is simple. Mrs. R. Heal, late of Vogeltown, New Plymouth, now living at Frankley Park, says:—"For three years I suffered with the .kidneys, and badly needeil a medicine jto give me relief. The symptoms were'pains in my back, giddiness, and headaches. The pains in the back were simply agonising, and my headaches were so violent that they used to prostrate me. I was for ever using medicines, but they did me no good. I was doubtful if anything would cure me, when I saw Doan's Backache Kidney Pills advertised, and sent for some. These pills are the best medicine I ever used; they are splendid. A 'lew doses •would give me such relief that I would often forget to take them, tut they cured me in spite of this fact."
