GENERAL TELEGRAMS.
BIBLE IN SCHOOLS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The Bible in schools question came in for consideration at the meeting of the Auckland Presbytery to-night, the Rev. A. Millar moving that an overture be made to the General Assemby in favour of the New South Wales system of religious instruction in State schools. The motion waß carried.
WELLINGTON DRY DOCK. Wellington, Last Night. It is understood that the construction of the dry dock at Te Aro by Messrs. John McLean and Son for the Wellington Harbor Board, will not be proceeded with by that firm, at any rate, not under the original conditions. Also that the firm named has relinquished its interests in the undertaking. An application to the chairman (Mr. R. Fletcher), and to some of the members of the Board for confirmation of the above report was met with a firm refusal to say anything about the dock. It is probable that the whole matter will be brought up and fully discussed at the next meeting of the Board.
