WHEAT AND FLOUR. London, September 11. The wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,255,000 quarters, for the Continent 2,855,000 quarters, Atlantic shipments 110,000 quarters; and the total to Europe 2,050,000 quarters, including 115,000 quarters from the Argentine, 705,000 quarters from Russia, 709,000 quarters Danubian, 130,000 from Australasia. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. Wellington, Monday. Following is the High Commissioner's cabled report under date London, Sept. 10 (quotations unless otherwise specifiea are for average market prices on spot): Mutton.—The market is firm. Stocks on hand are light, and -firmly held in few hands. There is moderate demand. Canterbury 3%d, North Island 3%d. Lamb.—The market is firm with good demand for all lamb. Canterbury 5%d, other than Canterbury 4%d. The beef market is weak and stock is accumulating owing to poor demand. New Zealand hinds 3y B d, fores 2y 2 d. Butter.—The market is quiet but firm for best quality. Buyers are awaiting this season's Australian, which is now due. The market is quiet but steady. English being in large supply, buyers are cautious. Cheese.—The supply of New Zealand cheese is practically exhausted. New Zealand 57s 6d. Hemp.—The market is somewhat steadier with better demand. New Zealand good fair per ton £24 ss, fail grade £2l 103, fair current Manila £2O ss, forward shipment New Zealand good fair per ton £.24, fair grade £2l ss, fair current Manila £2O 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 25,000 bales. The stock of New Zealand hemp is 356 tons.
