CHARGES FOR DELAYED CABLES. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyrigit Melbourne, September 12. The Postmaster-General, referring to Britain's decisions as to charges for deferred cables, said it was an extraordinary situation, seeing that private or foreign companies had nothing to do with the Pacific cable, and that the partners in the latter approved of the deferred system. Probably the influence of private companies in Great Britain was so strong as to account for the objection.
