LABORER DIES FOR A MA J TE. By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright London, September 8. Charles Nelson, a laborer employed in sewer works, knowing that an explosion was imminent, went to assist a mate who had been rendered helpless by bad air in a shaft. Both men were rescued, but Nelson afterwards died from the effects of gelignite fumes.
