SAILED. •Sydney, Friday.—Sailed, Tomoana, for Auckland. Newcastle, Friday.—Sailed, Highland Monarch, for Auckland. THE HIMITANGI. The Himitangi arrived from Westport on Thursday night with 260 tons of State coal. She discharged her cargo yesterday and sailed for Greymouth. The Maoriland Steamship Co. has arranged with the Campbelltown Shipbuilding Company for the purchase of a steamer which is at present on the stocks nearing completion to replace the wrecked vessel Lauderdale. The Waitemata, in addition to the reputation of being the Union Company's only globe trotter, is said to be at present the flashpst-looking steamer of the Red Funnel fleet. 'She is painted white all over. Mules worked the beautifying change. The steamer, when chartered to take the load of mules across the Pacific from North America to Fiji, was painted white right down to the waterline, this feeing a precaution for securing the coolness for the mules while the vessel crossed the tropics.
